CELLULAR RESISTANCE TO ARBOVIRUS INFECTION

Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 1975
When an arbovirus enters an arthropod in an infected blood meal, several mechanisms may interact to affect its life cycle and ultimate transmissibility. Intrinsic absolute failure in the establishment of infection must be contrasted with infection that is successfully established but is variably modulated in its viral yield throughout the vector's life-

Arbovirus Infections In Sarawak: Observations on the Mosquitoes

Journal of Medical Entomology, 1965
During an investigation into the etiology of virus encephalitis in Sarawak, mosquito collections were made in a number of selected habitats. In each area sampled, the principal man-biting species have been defined and their abundance has been correlated, so far as possible, with features of the environment. The dominant species varied in each locality,

ARBOVIRUS INFECTION IN A MURRAY VALLEY COMUNITY

Australian and New Zealand Journal of Medicine, 1986
Abstract Serum antibodies to Ross River virus and Murray Valley encephalitis virus were measured during 1974–1975 in residents of Echuca, an urban Murray Valley community. A representative group of volunteers was obtained by random selection of households. The prevalence of antibodies to both viruses increased progressively with age.

[Research on arbovirus infections].

Virologie, 1990
The author presents the results of researches done at the "Stefan S. Nicolau" Institute of Virology in Bucharest on the infections induced by arboviruses. The characteristics of three tick encephalitis virus strains (two strains isolated from Ixodes ricinus and Ixodes persulcatus ticks and one from a patient with encephalitis symptoms) are given.

Experimental Chemotherapy of Arbovirus Infections

1976
In a previous article we had presented evidence that rimantadine HCl and combination of rimautadine with interferon are capable of inhibiting the multiplication of arboviruses in tissue culture.
