Impacts of large herbivores on mycorrhizal fungal communities across the Arctic

open access: yesEcography, EarlyView.
Mycorrhizal fungi play an integral role in nutrient and carbon cycling in soils, which may be especially important in the Arctic, one of the world's most soil carbon‐rich regions. Large mammalian herbivores can influence these fungi through their impacts on vegetation and soil conditions, however the strength and prevalence of these interactions in the

Arbuscular mycorrhiza in the urban jungle: Glomeromycotina communities of the dominant city tree across Amsterdam

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Trees in cities provide a great number of benefits to people and nature, but they are challenged by harsh conditions. Trees rely on helpful fungi in their roots to get essential nutrients from the soil, but we do not know which of these fungi are resistant to city landscapes.

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and colonization stimulant in cotton and maize

open access: yesCiência Rural
: The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of inoculation with different arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi native to Cerrado, associated with the application of colonization stimulant (7-hydroxy, 4’-methoxy-isoflavone) at the initial growth of ...

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and mycorrhizal stimulant affect dry matter and nutrient accumulation in bean and soybean plants

open access: yesPesquisa Agropecuária Tropical, 2016
The adoption of biological resources in agriculture may allow less dependence and better use of finite resources. This study aimed at evaluating the effects of inoculation with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi native to the Brazilian Savannah associated with

Study on signal transmission mechanism of arbuscular mycorrhizal hyphal network against root rot of Salvia miltiorrhiza

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
To explore the signal transmission mechanism of the arbuscular mycorrhizal network against root rot of Salvia miltiorrhiza. In this experiment, the arbuscular mycorrhizal hyphal network was established among Salvia miltiorrhiza plants, and a two plant ...

Sharing the light, impact of solar parks on plant productivity, soil microbes and soil organic matter

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Solar parks enable renewable energy production at a large scale, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions. However, the effects of this change in land use on vegetation and soil health are still largely unknown. In this study, we determined the impacts of solar parks on vegetation, soil biota and soil carbon between and below solar panels.

A framework linking silicon fertilisation, plant silicification and soil carbon cycling

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Soil organic carbon (SOC) is vital for soil health, food security, and climate change mitigation. We reviewed how silicon (Si) fertilisers, commonly used to improve plant health, may also influence SOC dynamics. We developed a framework linking Si and SOC and discussed the possibility of Si‐mediated plant changes contributing to SOC sequestration.

ARBUSCULAR MYCORRHIZAL FUNGI ASSOCIATED WITH VARIETIES OF Carica papaya L. IN TROPICAL AGRO-BASED ECOSYSTEM OF GOA, INDIA.

open access: yesTropical and Subtropical Agroecosystems, 2009
The occurrence of arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi was investigated in six varieties of Carica papaya L in tropical agrobased ecosystem of Goa, India. All the varieties selected for the survey viz., CO-1, Coorg honeydew, CO-2, Sunrise solo, Washington ...

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi communities and glomalin mediate particulate and mineral-associated organic carbon formation in grassland patches

open access: yesCommunications Earth & Environment
Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi stimulate particulate and mineral-associated organic carbon formation and stabilization through hyphae residue, glomalin-related soil proteins gluing, and mycelium entangling.

Inoculation of cyclamen (Cyclamen persicum) and poinsettia (Euphorbia pulcherrima) with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and Trichoderma harzianum

open access: yesPlant, Soil and Environment, 2002
Dual inoculation of peat based horticulture substrate with a mixture of four species of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and fungal biocontrol agent Trichoderma harzianum showed a significant positive effect on the growth and flowering of cyclamen plants ...
