Structural Eigenmodes of the Brain to Improve the Source Localization of EEG: Application to Epileptiform Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Geometry and connectivity are complementary structures, which have demonstrated their ability to represent the brain's functional activity. This study evaluates geometric and connectome eigenmodes as biologically informed constraints for EEG source localization.

Electrode erosion in arc discharges at atmospheric pressure [PDF]

open access: yes
An experimental investigation was performed in an effort to measure and increase lifetime of electrodes in an arcjet thruster. The electrode erosion of various anode and cathode materials was measured after tests in an atmospheric pressure nitrogen arc ...

Apparatus and method for generating large mass flow of high temperature air at hypersonic speeds [PDF]

open access: yes, 1973
A description is given of tests performed in the Mach number 8 to 10 regime to generate high temperature air at hypersonic speeds. The test flow was obtained by pressuring a ceramic lined storage tank with air to a pressure of about 100 to 200 atm.

Revolutionizing Lithium Metal Anodes With 3D‐Printed Topology‐Optimized Hosts for Enhanced Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a topology‐optimized lithium metal anode host fabricated via digital light processing (DLP) 3D printing. The reinforced microstructure provides mechanical stability, suppresses dendrite growth, and accommodates volume changes.

Cathode drop in arc discharges [PDF]

open access: yesElectrical Engineering, 1932
There is no general agreement among physicists concerning the mechanism which produces a Iqw cathode drop with the correspondingly high current density which is characteristic of an electric arc. Herewith is presented a review of prevalent theories regarding this phenomenon, and results of some experiments on arc and glow discharges.

Electrolyte Additive Strategies in Aqueous Zn‐Ion Batteries: Recent Advances and Prospects

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This article provides a comprehensive overview of the current status and future development directions of AZIBs electrolyte additives in three aspects: stabilizing zinc anodes (uniform deposition, inhibition of dendritic crystals), protecting cathodes (structural stability, inhibition of dissolution), and enhancing electrolyte stability (wider ...

Phenomenology of plasma engine cathodes at high current rates and low pressures [PDF]

open access: yes
The effects of low surrounding pressures on cathodes of arc jet engines with electromagnetic acceleration are investigated for pressure and current energies of 20 to 100 Torr. and 400 to 1000 A.

Investigation of a Gallium MPD Thruster with an Ablating Cathode [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Arc impedance, exhaust velocity, and plasma probe measurements are presented. The thruster is driven by a 50 microsecond pulse from a 6.2 milliohm pulse forming network, and gallium is supplied to the discharge by evaporation of the cathode.
