Optimal codes, n-arcs and Laguerre geometry
Acta Informatica, 1976In this paper we give sharp bounds for the block-length n of optimal linear (n, k)-codes over GF(q).

Arc erosion characteristics of pseudospark discharge in multiaperture geometry
Journal of Applied Physics, 2002Analysis of discharge mechanism in especially designed pseudosparks that facilitate pseudospark characteristic low-erosive conduction at very high currents is presented. The alternate formulation of criterion for transition to arc discharge phase developed here enables us to account for the emergence of arcs at each aperture after a threshold electric ...

Effect of electrode geometry on the tanh conductivity arc model
Journal of Applied Physics, 1978Conservation of energy for the temperature field is solved jointly with conservation of charge for the electrostatic potential for an arc in which the effects of convection and radiation are neglected. The electrical conductivity is modeled by a hyperbolic tangent function.

Arc motion along arc runners enclosing different opening angles from 60/spl deg/ to 150/spl deg/, symmetrically arranged, was investigated in a model switch at currents from 1 kA to 5 kA. Wall distance, wall and runner material were varied. The measured criteria were the lengthening time and the frequency of back-strikes.

The Geometry of Arc InterruptionߞII Current-Zero Phenomena
Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1944During the microsecond period in which an interrupter is performing the act of changing from a conductor to an insulator (termed interruption) the current, voltage, and arc resistance undergo variations which materially affect the performance characteristics of the interrupter.

Effects of Welding Conditions on Molten Drop Geometry in Arc Welding
Journal of Manufacturing Science and Engineering, 1996The precise geometry of the molten drop attached to the electrode has substantial influence on the metal transfer. The geometry of the drop is a function of various parameters including the welding current and voltage, composition of shielding gas, electrode extension and material properties of the electrode.
