A Statistical Review of Hydrogen Effects on the Fatigue and Fracture Behavior of Steel

open access: yesFatigue &Fracture of Engineering Materials &Structures, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study conducts a statistical re‐analysis of experimental data from the literature to assess the influence of hydrogen on key mechanical properties, including the medium‐/high‐cycle fatigue strength and the threshold value of the stress intensity factor range.

Submerged Arc Welding of S355G10+M Steel: Analyzing Strength, Distortion, Residual Stresses, and Fatigue for Offshore Wind Applications

open access: yesFatigue &Fracture of Engineering Materials &Structures, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This research delves into the material performance of submerged arc‐welded S355G10 +M structural steel for offshore wind turbines, with an emphasis on strength, ductility, hardness, distortion, residual stress, and fatigue. This was done by conducting experiments and employing modeling tools combined with image analysis.

Brazing ZrB2 ultra‐high‐temperature ceramics to Zr metals for hypersonic thermal protection systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Ceramic Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract Porous and dense zirconium diboride (ZrB2) materials are promising ultra‐high‐temperature ceramics (UHTCs) for transpiration cooling in hypersonic applications, providing an effective means to reduce component temperatures and mitigate oxidation effects. While porous ZrB2 enables coolant flow, dense ZrB2 offers structural integrity.

Coupling Phase Equilibrium Modelling and Apatite‐in‐Garnet Elastic Barometry to Unravel the P–T Path of the Micaschist Unit From the Zicavo Metamorphic Complex (Corsica, France)

open access: yesJournal of Metamorphic Geology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT To gain insights into the pressure–temperature evolution of a scarcely studied portion of the Variscan basement of Corsica in southern Europe, we combined phase equilibrium modelling, Zr‐in‐rutile thermometry and apatite‐in‐garnet elastic barometry. We investigated Grt‐St micaschist rocks containing garnet grains of several millimetres in size

Parallel computing aided analyses of dynamic buckling for railway track infrastructure

open access: yesComputer-Aided Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper presents a scalable parallel computing framework for simulating track buckling under dynamic train loads, enabling large‐scale railway track stability analysis. A three‐dimensional (3D) track model is developed using finite element‐based Euler–Bernoulli beam formulations for rails, dynamic force inputs, and nonlinear interactions at
