Arch Length in Late Lower Arch Crowding
2002Late lower arch crowding is a problem encountering frequently in orthodontic practice. The controversy about the etiology of late lower arch crowding has not yet been satisfactory resolved. The aim of this study was to examine arch length in two groups of subject, with and without crowding in anterior part of lower arch.

Crozat appliance therapy for an arch-length discrepancy problem
American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, 1991The case involved a white male subject, aged 10 years 6 months, with a Class I molar relationship complicated by a deep overbite and impaction of all four permanent canines, which were completely blocked out of the arches. The growth rate of the arches was found to be abnormal, and there was premature loss of the deciduous teeth.

A comparison of four methods of predicting arch length
American Journal of Orthodontics, 19791. Four arch length prediction equations (Nance, Johnston-Tanaka, Moyers, and Hixon-Oldfather) were compared by examining pretreatment casts, pretreatment intraoral radiographs, and posttreatment casts of forty-one patients of mixed-dentition age. 2. A comparison of correlation coefficients and slopes of the predicted arch length versus the actual arch

Statistical analyses of effective lengths in steel arch bridges
Computers & Structures, 2003This study conducts a quantitative investigation of the effective lengths of arch bridges using three-dimensional buckling and statistical analyses. Three analytical models of parabolic steel arch bridges including inclined, tied and deck-type arch bridges were studied.

Space maintainer effects on intercanine arch width and length.
The Journal of clinical pediatric dentistry, 1997In order to investigate the effects of space maintainers in intercanine arch width and length, twenty cases, characterized with the early loss of mandibular primary molars were selected and divided into two groups. The treatment group used removable space maintainers, while the other ten cases served as the control group.

Arch length deficiency on sides containing palatally erupting canines.
World journal of orthodontics, 2013To measure the arch length of sides containing palatally displaced canines and to compare them with those of contralateral sides with normally positioned canines. The study sample consisted of 36 children 10 to 12 years of age with unerupted permanent maxillary canines who presented with palatally displaced canines, unilaterally, with respect to the ...
