New Insights About the Role of Sn‐Rich and Pb‐Rich Phases Over the Corrosion Mechanism of Low‐Tin Quaternary Bronze Alloys Under Sulfur‐Containing Conditions

Materials and Corrosion, EarlyView.
A mechanistic proposal for the initial steps of quaternary bronze corrosion in media containing sulfate was described. The process is driven by microgalvanic effects along the microstructure, generating anodic sites over lead and tin rich phases and cathodic sites onto Cu‐rich phases.

Abstract 3D scanning is rapidly becoming a key maintenance tool. Aerospace was a pioneer in adopting 3D scanning technology because aircraft manufacture and maintenance require precision.
