Nd isotopic data require that most Archean igneous rocks are derived from depleted or undepleted mantle sources while geochemical model stuides necessitate enriched sources for most Archean tonalites. This apparent contradiction can be reconciled if the enriched sources are produced by short‐lived (≤150 m.y.) enrichment of depleted sources.

Deep biosphere hosted by Archean granitoid basement of Deccan Traps showed depth‐wise microbial partitioning. Limited dispersion and variable selection control community assembly. Fewer abundant bacterial taxa were ubiquitous, while large numbers of rare taxa remained localized.

Peixe Zircon as a Quality Control Reference Material in U‐Pb Geochronology by LA‐ICP‐MS
Key Points Peixe#0 zircon was characterised for U‐Pb geochronology using CA‐ID‐TIMS, SIMS and a long‐term LA‐ICP‐MS data set. The consistent results establish Peixe#0 as a reference material for U‐Pb quality control. Trace element heterogeneity requires careful, CL‐guided spot selection.

Abstract Since the Mesozoic, much of the eastern China lithosphere was removed through thermo‐mechanical erosion and delamination, yet the effects on the overlying crust remain unclear. The Tanlu Fault Zone (TLFZ), the region's largest lithosphere‐scale weakness, offers a natural laboratory to assess crustal responses to lithospheric destruction.

Anorthositic complexes with large equidimensional plagioclase grains of highly calcic composition occur in nearly all Archean cratons. Similar plagioclase occur as megacrysts in many Archean sills, dikes, and volcanic flows.
