Moments and forces delivered by transpalatal arches for symmetrical first molar rotation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The moments and forces delivered by round transpalatal arches of steel and of beta-titanium (TMA) for symmetrical derotation of molars were studied in laboratory experiments. Three sizes of arches were tested in two series.

Optimal Design of Elastic Circular Plane Arches

open access: yesFrontiers in Built Environment, 2020
Arches represent a structural system adopted in construction practice for thousand years, and they are still widely adopted if large spans have to be covered. The structural efficiency of arches principally depends on the minimization of the eccentricity

In Situ Pseudo‐Halide Diffusion Enables Buried Interface Regulation and Crystallinity Enhancement in Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Thermally activated LiHCOO induces in situ pseudo‐halide diffusion, promoting buried interface strain release and perovskite crystallization. The monoclinic LiHCOO phase forms an open framework structure that enhances HCOO− diffusion and drives interfacial restructuring.

Synergistic Effect of Gradient Conductivity and Gradient Microstructures Enabled Ultrasensitive and Ultrabroad Linear Flexible Tactile Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A design of double gradient effect is proposed to resolve the contradictory optimization on sensitivity and linearity of piezoresistive tactile sensors. The ultrawide linearity is realized by the sequential trigger of pressure‐induced gradient conductivity‐enabled linear current owing to the gradient microstructures.

Characterization of polyvinyl alcohol-borax/agarose (PVA-B/AG) double network hydrogel utilized for the cleaning of works of art

open access: yesHeritage Science, 2020
Since cleaning of artworks may cause undesirable physicochemical alterations and is a nonreversible procedure, it is mandatory to adopt the proper cleaning procedure.

ZER1 Restrains Pressure Overload‐Induced Cardiac Remodeling by Targeting DVL2 for Gly/N‐Degron‐Dependent Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pressure overload suppresses cardiomyocyte ZER1, weakening CRL2Zer1‐mediated DVL2 degradation and allowing DVL2 accumulation. Elevated DVL2 activates CaMKII‐HDAC4‐MEF2C signaling, drives fetal gene reactivation, and promotes pathological remodeling.
