Isoelectronic Alloying in Zintl Phases Mediated the Avoided Crossing and Phonon Softening

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A small amount of Hf doping endows Zr3Ni3Sb4‐Zintl with an unusually low thermal conductivity far exceeding that of similar systems. Two unique phonon mechanisms—avoided crossing and phonon softening—significantly suppress the lattice thermal conductivity. The average thermoelectric figure of merit is improved by 21%.

Double series over a non-Archimedean field

open access: yesAtti della Accademia Peloritana dei Pericolanti : Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali, 2015
In the present paper we investigate the convergence of a double series over a complete non-Archimedean field and prove that, while the proofs are somewhat different, the Archimedean results hold true.

Construction Archimedean tiling patterns based on soft materials from block copolymers and covalent organic frameworks

open access: yesGiant, 2023
Soft materials based on block copolymers or covalent organic frameworks (COFs) that exhibit Archimedean tiling patterns have attracted significant interest due to their potential applications in nanopatterning, nanocomposites, and shape selectivity ...

Methylene‐Bridged Calixarene Polyhedra: An Elusive Class of Symmetric Molecular Architectures

open access: yesHelvetica Chimica Acta, EarlyView.
An overview of purely hypothetical methylene‐bridged calixarene polyhedral molecular architectures is presented. In addition to the five previously postulated structures, we propose a calix[5]arene‐based icosidodecahedron as a new member of this class. Computational assessments of stability and strain indicate that methanospherophane is likely the most

Pole‐To‐Pole 3D Radial Trajectory Designs Improve Image Quality and Quantitative Parametric Mapping in the Brain and Heart

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose To design 3D radial spiral phyllotaxis trajectories aimed at removing phase inconsistencies, improving image quality, and enhancing parametric mapping accuracy by acquiring nearly opposing spokes starting from both hemispheres in 3D radial k‐space. Methods Two 3D radial trajectories, pole‐to‐pole and continuous spiral phyllotaxis, were

COBASE: A new copula‐based shuffling method for ensemble weather forecast postprocessing

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
We propose COBASE, a novel copula‐based postprocessing methododology that combines the strengths of multivariate parametric correction with non‐parametric rank‐based approaches. We consider two case studies for multi‐site temperature in Austria and multi‐site temperature and dew‐point temperature in the Netherlands.

Archimedean cohomology revisited [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Archimedean cohomology provides a cohomological interpretation for the calculation of the local L-factors at archimedean places as zeta regularized determinant of a log of Frobenius.

Unitary Dual of GL_n at archimedean places and global Jacquet-Langlands correspondence

open access: yes, 2009
In [7], results about the global Jacquet-Langlands correspondence, (weak and strong) multiplicity-one theorems and the classification of automorphic representations for inner forms of the general linear group over a number field are established, under ...

The Archimedean projection property [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Geometry, 2017
Abstract Let H be a hypersurface in ℝ n and let π be an orthogonal projection in ℝ n restricted to H. We say that H satisfies the Archimedean projection property corresponding to π if there exists a constant C such that Vol(π –1(U)) = C·Vol ...

Risk Times in Mission‐Oriented Systems

open access: yesQuality and Reliability Engineering International, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article assesses risk times in mission‐oriented systems with high safety standards. We examine critical times under two safety policies. The first requires that the system's reliability function, known the first failure of the components, must exceed a reliability level throughout the mission.
