Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Loess Strength Prediction Model Under Dry–Wet Cycles Based on the IAGA-BP Algorithm

open access: yesApplied Sciences
In the long-term operation of canals in loess areas, instability and landslides frequently occur due to the effect of wetting–drying cycles, which severely restricts the long-term safe operation of engineering projects.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

K-means Clustering and Control Analysis of Main Tunneling Parameters of Mud-Water Balanced Shields in Water-Rich Round Gravel Strata

open access: yesZhongwai Gonglu
It is important to set reasonable tunneling parameters according to the ground conditions to reduce the deformation of existing tunnels, since the close crossing of new shield tunnels is likely to cause deformation in the adjacent existing tunnels. The K-

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

NKCC1: A key regulator of glioblastoma progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioblastoma (GBM) progression is driven by disrupted chloride cotransporter homeostasis. NKCC1 is highly expressed in stem‐like, astrocytic, and progenitor cells, correlating with earlier recurrence, while overall survival remains unaffected. NKCC1 serves as a prognostic marker and potential therapeutic target, linking chloride transporter imbalance ...

Experiences in Photogrammetric and Laser Scanner Surveing of Architectural Heritage

open access: yesGeoinformatics FCE CTU, 2011
The integration of different methodologies and simplification of procedures is surely one of the most important current themes in survey techniques for researching cultural heritage, especially for architectural heritage.  The traditional methods for the
