From Single Atoms to Nanoparticles: Pathways Toward Efficient and Durable Pt/TiO2 Photocatalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Platinum single atoms on TiO2 nanosheets evolve into clusters and nanoparticles under ethanol photoreforming and thermal treatments. By controlling deposition and post‐treatments, particle size and location on specific facets are modulated. The study reveals how stability pathways determine efficiency, guiding the design of more durable photocatalysts.

Stabilization of Miscible Aqueous Phases via Diffusion‐Controlled Multifunctional Nanoparticle‐Ligand Complexation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a versatile approach to harnessing miscible aqueous domains, enabling liquid‐in‐liquid compartmentalization using a barrier formed in situ rather than bulk immiscibility. The barrier forms upon the complexation of multifunctional nanoparticles and ligands at the contact boundary of aqueous phases.

Modulated voltage metastable ionization detector [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
The output current from a metastable ionization detector (MID) is applied to a modulation voltage circuit. An adjustment is made to balance out the background current, and an output current, above background, is applied to an input of a strip chart ...

Meta‐Rod Mechanical Metamaterials With Programmable Reconfiguration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Existing mechanical metamaterials achieve programmable large deformations in planar square or cubic configurations, restricted by required complex boundary conditions. This research proposes a 1D metamaterial, Meta‐rod, with linear, bending, twisting, area, and volume deformation modes.

Determine the Exact Fault Location in Underground Cable: A Systematic Review

open access: yesIEEE Access
In urban areas, the power distribution system is based on medium-voltage energy cables. Typically, place cables underground in urban; finding faults in cables is very challenging.

Classification of Many Abnormal Events in Radial Distribution Feeders Using the Complex Morlet Wavelet and Decision Trees

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
Monitoring of abnormal events in a distribution feeder by using a single technique is a challenging task. A number of abnormal events can cause unsafe operation, including a high impedance fault (HIF), a partial breakdown to a cable insulation, and a ...

PASP Plus: An experiment to measure space-environment effects on photovoltaic power subsystems [PDF]

open access: yes
The Photovoltaic Array Space Power Plus Diagnostic experiment (PASP Plus) was accepted as part of the APEX Mission payload aboard a Pegastar satellite to be orbited by a Pegasus launch vehicle in late 1992. The mission's elliptical orbit will allow us to

2D Magnetic and Topological Quantum Materials and Devices for Ultralow Power Spintronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
2D magnets and topological quantum materials enable ultralow‐power spintronics by combining robust magnetic order with symmetry‐protected, Berry‐curvature‐driven transport. Fundamentals of 2D anisotropy and spin‐orbit‐coupling induced band inversion are linked to scalable growth and vdW stacking.
