A Novel Model of Electromechanical Contactors for Predicting Dynamic Characteristics

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
To ensure the reliability of power supply, a dual power supply structure appears in the power distribution system. Power supply switching is a complex physical process. This paper presents a novel model of electromechanical contactors.

Arc Segmentation in Linear Time

open access: yes, 2011
A linear algorithm based on a discrete geometry approach is proposed for the detection of digital arcs and digital circles using a new representation of them. It is introduced by inspiring from the work of Latecki [1]. By utilizing this representation, we transform the problem of digital arc detection into a problem of digital straight line recognition.

Soundness of Timed-Arc Workflow Nets in Discrete and Continuous-Time Semantics [PDF]

open access: yesFundamenta Informaticae, 2015
Analysis of workflow processes with quantitative aspects like timing is of interest in numerous time-critical applications. We suggest a workflow model based on timed-arc Petri nets and study the foundational problems of soundness and strong (time-bounded) soundness.

Decidability of Properties of Timed-Arc Petri Nets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Timed-arc Petri nets (TAPN’s) are not Turing powerful, because, in particular, they cannot simulate a counter with zero testing. Thus, we could think that this model does not increase significantly the expressiveness of untimed Petri nets. But this is not true; in a previous paper we have shown that the differences between them are big enough to make ...

Classification of multiple electromagnetic interference events in high-voltage power plant [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This paper addresses condition assessment of electrical assets contained in high voltage power plants. Our work introduces a novel analysis approach of multiple event signals related to faults, and which are measured using Electro-Magnetic Interference ...

Time constants for nonstationary arcs [PDF]

open access: yesZeitschrift für Physik A Hadrons and nuclei, 1968
The time constants associated with the initial deviations of an arc column from a static state have been studied analytically. The basic approach is to use a Taylor series expansion in powers of time of the energy balance equation. It is assumed that the arc gas is optically thin and is in local thermal equilibrium.
