Artifact‐Minimizing Ultrathin Transparent Electrodes Fabricated via iCVD for In Vivo Optogenetic Stimulation and Neural Signal Monitoring of Primary Visual Cortex

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present ultrathin flexible transparent electrodes through iCVD‐enabled molecular control of 10 nm gold films on poly(dimethylaminomethylstyrene). In vivo validation demonstrated photoelectric artifact reduction vs. opaque electrodes and preservation of natural neural dynamics.

Simulation study on the optimal shape of electrodes quadrupole electrostatic deflectors for the UTEM

open access: yesResults in Physics
In this paper, the electrostatic field of a quadrupole electrostatic deflector used in ultrafast transmission electron microscopy is simulated. When the electrodes of the deflector are arcs and straight plates with different degrees of curvature, there ...

Electromagnetic Catalysis of a Neutrino Radiative decay or One More Source of Information on the Lepton Mixing Angles? [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
The radiative decay of ultrarelativistic massive neutrino $\nu_i \rightarrow \nu_j \gamma$ is investigated in electromagnetic fields in the framework of the Standard Model with lepton mixing. Estimates of the decay probability and ``decay cross-section''

Dispensing Volumetric Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Dispensing volumetric additive manufacturing (DVAM) prints 3D structures inside a photocurable resin droplet suspended from the tip of a glass pipette, enabling sequential printing without resin vats or manual part removal. Real‐time droplet profiling and ray‐tracing‐based correction compensate for optical distortion at the curved resin‐air interface ...

Arc driver operation for either efficient energy transfer or high-current generator [PDF]

open access: yes
An investigation is made to establish predictable electric arcs along triggered paths for research purposes, the intended application being the heating of the driver gas of a 1 MJ electrically driven shock tube.

Disordered Carbon Shells Enable Shape Dependent Fluorescence Enhancement in Nanodiamond Quantum Sensors Revealed by Correlative TEM–Fluorescence Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Molten KNO2 treatment induces a lowrefractive index disordered carbon shell on fluorescent nanodiamonds, enhancing fluorescence emission while preserving spin coherence. Machine learningassisted correlative TEMPL enables direct single‐particle resolution of this enhancement relative to air‐oxidized nanodiamonds of similar morphology, establishing a ...

Dynamics explorer data analysis [PDF]

open access: yes
The project has shown unambiguously that auroral acceleration is caused by electric fields aligned parallel to the Earth's magnetic field. Evidence was shown of significant ion heating as ions are accelerated upwards in auroral electric fields.

Theory of Parabolic Arcs in Interstellar Scintillation Spectra

open access: yes, 2004
Our theory relates the secondary spectrum, the 2D power spectrum of the radio dynamic spectrum, to the scattered pulsar image in a thin scattering screen geometry.

Halide‐Dependent Photoluminescence and Heavy‐Atom Effects in Low‐Melting Organic–Inorganic Manganese Halides

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two pyridinium‐based ionic liquid templated hybrid manganese halides, (C4Py)2[MnCl4] and (C4Py)2[MnBr4], display similar bulk structures but show significantly different photoluminescence behaviors due to the bromine heavy‐atom effect. Their stable local Mn environments remain intact even in the molten state, allowing applications such as luminescence ...
