Transarterial Chemoembolization (TACE) may aggravate liver fibrosis. In this study, a novel oral targeting nanoemulsion is fabricated to enhance the therapeutic effect of antifibrotic drug‐pirfenidone (PFD) on fibrosis after TACE. Studies have shown that PFD nanoemulsion can enhance the oral liver targeting effect of PFD, and effectively improve the ...

Coccolithophorids in polar waters: Mercedesia gen. nov., Ericiolus, Quaternariella and Porsildia gen.nov. [PDF]
Coccolithophorid samples from arctic and antartic regions have been examined for an update on species morphology, life history aspects and biogeography for the coccolithophorid genera Ericiolus and Quaternariella and two other genera here described as ...

Thermally Induced Gelling Systems Based on Patchy Polymeric Micelles
A novel strategy to design thermally induced gelling systems with tunable material properties is reported. Polymeric mixed‐shell micelles displaying multiple thermosensitive patchy domains formed hydrogels by assembling into well‐entangled worm‐like network structures upon heating to body temperature. The patchy micelle design significantly affects the

Sea ice trends in climate models only accurate in runs with biased global warming
Observations indicate that the Arctic sea ice cover is rapidly retreating while the Antarctic sea ice cover is steadily expanding. State-of-the-art climate models, by contrast, typically simulate a moderate decrease in both the Arctic and Antarctic sea ...

Wetting of Surface Grafted Hydrophilic‐b‐Hydrophobic Block Copolymer Brushes
The wetting properties of surface grafted diblock copolymer brushes are influenced by the thickness of the hydrophilic bottom block and the hydrophobic top block. The surface adapts in presence of water and the contact angles of the bottom block shine through. Abstract The wetting of diblock copolymer brushes by water is studied.

Mesenchymal stem cell‐derived nanoghosts (MSC‐NGs) mimic naturally secreted extracellular vesicles (MSC‐EVs) in structure and physicochemical properties but can be synthesized at more translatable yields. As osteogenic agents, MSC‐NGs demonstrate superior outcomes compared to MSC‐EVs.

An arctic circle theorem for groves [PDF]
In earlier work, Jockusch, Propp, and Shor proved a theorem describing the limiting shape of the boundary between the uniformly tiled corners of a random tiling of an Aztec diamond and the more unpredictable `temperate zone' in the interior of the region.

Seasonal variation of moisture transport in polar regions and the relation with annular modes [PDF]
Climatological seasonal variations of moisture transport and the interannual variations associated with the annular modes in the Arctic and Antarctic regions are investigated using 15-year ECMWF reanalysis data. Over the Arctic, there are strong moisture
