IEEE Embedded Systems Letters, 2016
This letter describes our source-level debugger for Arduino which can be used to debug the code in Arduino using GNU debugger. The presented solution uses Eclipse as the visual front-end. It does not require any modification of the Arduino board or additional hardware; debug functionality is achieved by adding a program library to the user application.

Arduino, an open-source electronics prototyping platform, is celebrating its tenth anniversary of availability in 2014—its first ten years of life. That means it’s been here since the very beginning of the Internet of things concept, as we understand it now.

Technical upgradation in the field of surveillance as well as in remote package delivering systems have led us to the development of a quadcopter. The quadcopter’s flight controller is developed using Arduino Uno R3 based microcontroller board and its flight movements can be controlled using a transmitter-receiver setup. A gyro cum accelerometer module

Since this is a beginner’s book, you are likely just getting started working with hardware and IoT solutions, and you may not have encountered the world that is Arduino and microcontrollers. Arduino boards are small boards with components that support general-purpose input/output (GPIO) pins with a limited processor (called a microcontroller, not a CPU)

openFrameworks is a set of C++ libraries that provides an easy method of coding audio, video, and graphical components. openFrameworks provides mechanisms to easily connect serial devices and Arduinos to personal computers, making openFrameworks an invaluable tool for Arduino development and a useful next topic for discussion.

A simple bottle filling process control system is a good example to understand the fundamentals of PLCs. An assembly line consists of a conveyor belt that’s connected to a motor drive, nozzle, and a filling stroke. The conveyer belt moves to one direction with empty bottles on it and the presence of a bottle is captured by a sensor at the point of the ...

With some of the basics of electricity, Arduino, and general robot building out of the way, we jump right in to some of the specific interfacing tasks that are needed to complete the projects in this book. In Chapter 1, the code examples use low-power components that can be connected directly to the Arduino (LEDs, potentiometers, R/C receivers, button ...

In this chapter, we’ll be introduced to the Arduino prototyping platform. As with the previous chapter, if you’re already using Arduino, and you’re programming it yourself, feel free to skip this chapter. Mind you, that apart from the Arduino language itself, we’ll also focus on its serial communication capabilities, in combination with Pd.
