Transport coefficients of argon, nitrogen, oxygen, argon-nitrogen, and argon-oxygen plasmas

Plasma Chemistry and Plasma Processing, 1994
Calculated values of the viscosity, thermal conductivity, and electrical conductivity of argon, nitrogen, and oxygen plasmas, and mixtures of argon anti nitrogen and of argon anti oxygen, are presented. In addition, combined ordinary, pressure, and thermal diffusion coefficients are given for the gas mixtures.

Potassium-Argon/Argon-Argon Dating Methods

1997
During the latter half of this century anthropological surveys in East Africa have made significant contributions to understanding how the human species has evolved. In the past two decades, particularly, discoveries of our fossil ancestors have been made in unprecedented numbers and diversity.

Argon metastable production in argon-helium microplasmas

Journal of Applied Physics, 2016
Microwave resonator-driven microplasmas are a promising technology for generating the high density of rare-gas metastable states required for optically pumped rare gas laser systems. We measure the density of argon 1s5 states (Paschen notation) in argon-helium plasmas between 100 Torr and atmospheric pressure using diode laser absorption.

Potassium-Argon and Argon-40/Argon-39 Dating

1994
Potassium is an alkali metal of Group IA in which its companions are lithium, sodium, rubidium and caesium. It is highly reactive with a relative density of 0·86 and a melting point of 62·3° C, an atomic weight of 39·0983 and an atomic number of 19; it has 18 isotopes.

Polarizability of an Argon Atom in Solid Argon

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1967
A calculation in the tight-binding approximation, of the static polarizability of an argon atom in solid argon is presented. A linear variational technique is used to estimate the polarizability. The results are given as a function of the lattice parameter.

Drift Velocity of Electrons in Argon and Argon Mixtures

Journal of Applied Physics, 1952
Since argon is prepared by fractional distillation from liquid air, the greatest impurity found in it is nitrogen whose boiling point lies close to that of argon. For this reason it is believed that some of the previous measurements on supposedly pure argon were actually made on nitrogen contaminated argon.

Attainable Superheat of Argon−Helium, Argon−Neon Solutions

The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2008
The method of lifetime measurement has been used to investigate the kinetics of spontaneous boiling-up of superheated argon-helium and argon-neon solutions. Experiments were made at a pressure of p = 1.5 MPa and concentrations up to 0.33 mol% in the range of nucleation rates from 10 (4) to 10 (8) s (-1) m (-3).

Wirkungsquerschnitt von Argon gegen Argon+

Zeitschrift fr Physik, 1931

Universal equation for argon gas cluster sputtering yields.

, 2013
An analysis is made of the sputtering yields of materials for argon gas cluster ion beams used in SIMS and XPS as a function of the beam energy, E, and the cluster size, n. The analysis is based on the yield data for the elements Si and Au, the inorganic

Positronium-Argon Scattering

Physical Review Letters, 1996
The total cross section ${\ensuremath{\sigma}}_{T}$ for orthopositronium (o-Ps) scattering from argon gas has been measured directly for the first time using a variable energy o-Ps beam in the range 16--95 eV. The cross section is found to rise from a value of approximately $9\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}20}$ to $15\ifmmode ...
