Altering the IgE binding capacity of king prawn (Litopenaeus Vannamei) tropomyosin through conformational changes induced by cold argon-plasma jet.

Food Chemistry, 2019
Tropomyosin (TM), a myofibrillar protein, is a major allergen in most crustaceans including king pawn (Litopenaeus vannamei). In this study, the structural modifications and allergenic response of TM in fresh king prawn as induced by cold argon plasma ...

Cap-assisted argon plasma coagulation

Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, 2015
Cap-assisted argon plasma coagulation is carried out with a clear cap over the tip of the endoscope. The catheter is then positioned within the cap in such a manner that the tip of the catheter is kept at a reproducible distance from the mucosa (Fig. 1). This obviates the possibility of direct mucosal contact and the resulting direct thermal injury. It

Argon plasma coagulation in Barrett's esophagus

Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Clinics of North America, 2003
Despite the availability of many clinical trials, there is no evidence that APC has any role in the management of Barrett's esophagus. Ablation therapy is not indicated for nondysplastic Barrett's esophagus (and this is true, whatever the technique used), and it should not be performed outside of a carefully designed and approved clinical trial. Indeed,

Imploding argon plasma experiments

Applied Physics Letters, 1979
The Pithon pulsed electron beam accelerator was used to implode an argon plasma at 4 TW. The plasma was prepared by microwave preionization of an annular column of gas injected between the output electrodes of the pulser. The electrodynamic behavior implied that most of the gas was involved in the pinch.

Effects of Mild Oxidative and Structural Modifications Induced by Argon Plasma on Physicochemical Properties of Actomyosin from King Prawn ( Litopenaeus vannamei).

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2018
In the present work, the structure and physicochemical properties of natural actomyosin (NAM) extracted from king prawn ( Litopenaeus vannamei) and subjected to atmospheric pressure plasma jet (APPJ) generated in argon gas as a function of the treatment ...

Fast room-temperature reduction of graphene oxide by methane/argon plasma for flexible electronics

Applications of Surface Science, 2018
Plasma reduction of graphene oxide is a promising route towards large-scale and low-cost graphene production. Here we demonstrate a facile, heating-free approach of fast reduction of graphene oxide using inductively coupled methane/argon plasma.

Comparison of electron heating and energy loss mechanisms in an RF plasma jet operated in argon and helium

Plasma Sources Science & Technology, 2020
The μ-APPJ is a well-investigated atmospheric pressure RF plasma jet. Up to now, it has mainly been operated using helium as feed gas due to stability restrictions. However, the COST-Jet design including precise electrical probes now offers the stability

Argon plasma coagulation therapy

Current Opinion in Gastroenterology, 2008
To give a summary of recent advances in argon plasma coagulation (APC) therapy in gastroenterology.APC has gained importance in gastrointestinal endoscopy during the last decade, and APC technology has improved over time. Recently published studies, mainly consisting of case series, have shown that APC can be used effectively in various forms of ...
