2022Abstract This chapter first considers Edwards’ participation in the so-called Arian controversy concerning the subordinationist Christology of William Whiston and Samuel Clarke, and notes how he enhanced his already-reputable status as a Church of England divine through his defence of creedal Christological orthodoxy.
