Mirror symmetry and Langlands duality in the non-Abelian Hodge theory of a curve

open access: yes, 2004
This is a survey of results and conjectures on mirror symmetry phenomena in the non-Abelian Hodge theory of a curve. We start with the conjecture of Hausel-Thaddeus which claims that certain Hodge numbers of moduli spaces of flat SL(n,C) and PGL(n,C ...

Higher weight spectra and Betti numbers of Reed-Muller codes $RM_q(2,2)$

open access: yes
44 pages, 3 appendices, 25 tablesWe determine the higher weight spectra of $q$-ary Reed-Muller codes $C_q=RM_q(2,2)$ for all prime powers $q$. This is equivalent to finding the usual weight distributions of all extension codes of $C_q$ over every field ...

On off-diagonal Ramsey numbers for vector spaces over $\mathbb{F}_{2}$

open access: yes
For every positive integer $d$, we show that there must exist an absolute constant $c > 0$ such that the following holds: for any integer $n \geq cd^{7}$ and any red-blue coloring of the one-dimensional subspaces of $\mathbb{F}_{2}^{n}$, there must exist

Modular properties and decompositions of arithmetic matroids

open access: yes, 2017
In this thesis, we introduce the concepts of Z-closure operators and Z-flat lattices of arithmetic matroids, and show that for a representable arithmetic matroid, the characteristic polynomial of the associated toric arrangement is equal to the characteristic polynomial of the associated Z-flat at lattice.

Arithmetic matroids and an application to number theory

Matroids are combinatorial structures that abstract the notion of linear independence on finite sets. In their most famous examples they closely connect finite dimensional linear algebra with graph theory. In applications they are mostly regarded together with their most important invariant: the Tutte polynomial T (x, y).
