Observed aerosol‐layer depth at Station Nord in the high Arctic
International Journal of Climatology, Volume 43, Issue 7, Page 3247-3263, 15 June 2023., 2023 The results show aerosol‐layer depths below 80 m as well as depths around 230–250 m and they show few observations of aerosol‐layer depths between 80 and 230 m. Close to the ground, the observed backscatter exhibits a very pronounced seasonal variation, having low values during the summer and high values during the winter.

Journal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 128, Issue 10, 27 May 2023., 2023 Abstract This study analyzes the influence of marine cold‐air outbreaks (MCAO) on snowfall and cloud properties in the North Atlantic Ocean using CloudSat observations. Comparing reanalysis‐determined MCAO conditions (low‐level instability) against “non‐CAO” conditions, we find that MCAO conditions are associated with predominantly light snowfall rates
