Seven cases of fractures of the humerus from arm wrestling included 2 types of fractures. Two were spiral fractures of the humeral shaft with large butterfly fragments at the junction of the middle and distal one third caused by a violent uncoordinated muscular action.

Trauma to the shoulder, either directly or indirectly from a fall on the extended arm. Pain at movement, laterally localised, and swelling. At displacement, the rotator cuff is affected. Sometimes in combination with a humeral fracture of the collum chirurgicum. Radiography determines the diagnosis.
