Herbivore and mesocarnivore carcasses trigger divergent short‐term changes in soil properties
Scavengers reshape nutrient cycles in soils under carrion. Compared to herbivore carcasses, smaller but longer‐lasting carnivore remains boost nutrient levels and microbial activity in dry soils. Abstract Animal corpses act as pulses of organic matter (OM) and serve a key zoogeochemical role by providing localized nutrient inputs to soils and thereby ...

Rate Distortion Function of Gaussian Asymptotically WSS Vector Processes
In this paper, we obtain an integral formula for the rate distortion function (RDF) of any Gaussian asymptotically wide sense stationary (AWSS) vector process.

Monitoring Quality of Mafia‐Connected Accountants
ABSTRACT We investigate the monitoring quality of accountants with ties to the Mafia in their role as auditors for “clean” firms—those with no known ties to organized crime. Using a proprietary government database, we identify Italian firms with alleged ties to the Mafia through their executives, directors, or shareholders.

MODEL SELECTION CRITERIA AND QUADRATIC DISCRIMINATION IN ARMA AND SETAR TIME SERIES MODELS [PDF]
We show that analyzing model selection in ARMA time series models as a quadratic discrimination problem provides a unifying approach for deriving model selection criteria.

An ecclesiastical court: Christian nationalism and perceptions of the US Supreme Court
Abstract Recently, scholars have increasingly examined the unique blending of Christian and political ideology known as Christian nationalism. Controlled Complete ARMA Independent Process Analysis [PDF]
In this paper we address the controlled complete AutoRegressive Moving Average Independent Process Analysis (ARMAX-IPA; X-exogenous input or control) problem, which is a generalization of the Blind SubSpace Deconvolution (BSSD) task.

A Comparative Review of Specification Tests for Diffusion Models
Summary Diffusion models play an essential role in modelling continuous‐time stochastic processes in the financial field. Therefore, several proposals have been developed in the last decades to test the specification of stochastic differential equations.
