Armillaria spp. izraisa kokaugu sakņu un stumbra trupi un izplatās ar micēlija pinumiem – rizomorfām. Pētījumā septiņās P. abies audzēs kūdreņos novērtēta Armillaria spp. rizomorfu sastopamība un augšanas potenciāls pēc 12 mēnešu inkubācijas perioda 105 kūdras un skaidu paraugos.
