2021Animals have developed different strategies to protect themselves from environmental and predatory threats. One of these strategies concerns with the development of natural flexible dermal armor, usually consisting of rigid and highly mineralized units (e. g. scales or osteoderms) attached by flexible collagen fibers.

MECHANISM OF ARMOR PENETRATION
1944Abstract : To study the forces which act upon projectiles during armor penetration. Friction was found to have a negligible effect during armor penetration. The shearing stresses associated with friction may be calculated quite accurately. It has ben found that these a re less than 5,000 psi except during the first instant of contact.
