Defining Conservation Units in a Highly Diverse Species: A Case on Arctic Charr. [PDF]

open access: yesEvol Appl
ABSTRACT Defining appropriate conservation units is crucial to the protection and management of biodiversity. These delineations deliver further benefit when they include assessments of population vulnerability to extinction from pressures such as climate change.

Quantification of invertebrates on fungal fruit bodies by the use of time‐lapse cameras

open access: yesEcological Entomology, Volume 48, Issue 5, Page 544-556, October 2023., 2023
Here we use time‐lapse cameras to monitor invertebrates on the fruit bodies of a common wood‐decay fungus, Fomitopsis pinicola. The most common visitors were beetles, spiders, true flies, slugs and centipedes. The invertebrates were more active during night and, for the beetles, early in the season, probably related to a period of high spore production

Pain tolerance after stroke: The Tromsø study

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Pain, Volume 27, Issue 7, Page 912-921, August 2023., 2023
Abstract Background Stroke lesions might alter pain processing and modulation by affecting the widely distributed network of brain regions involved. We aimed to compare pain tolerance in stroke survivors and stroke‐free persons in the general population, with and without chronic pain.

PANTHEISM, PANENTHEISM, AND ECOSOPHY: GETTING BACK TO SPINOZA?

open access: yesZygon®, Volume 57, Issue 3, Page 545-563, September 2022., 2022
Abstract Many authors in the field of Environmental Philosophy have claimed to be inspired by Spinoza's monism, which has traditionally been considered a form of pantheism because nature and God coincide. The early marine distribution of Atlantic salmon in the North‐east Atlantic: A genetically informed stock‐specific synthesis

open access: yesFish and Fisheries, Volume 22, Issue 6, Page 1274-1306, November 2021., 2021
Abstract The survival of Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar), an increasingly rare anadromous species, has declined dramatically during its marine phase, with disproportionate impacts on the poorly understood early post‐smolt period. Logistical constraints on collecting oceanic data to inform this issue pose a formidable obstacle. To advance understanding of
