Evaluating Aromaticity in Ag6Ru and Ag10Ru as Electron-Precise Superatom Clusters. [PDF]

open access: yesChemphyschem
An exhaustive study of Ag6Ru and Ag10Ru clusters reveals their stability and aromaticity. The analysis shows these species possess precise electron shell structures, classifying them as planar and spherical superatoms. Ag6Ru exhibits a ten‐electron shell, while Ag10Ru shows 18 electrons.

Fine‐grain task‐parallel algorithms for matrix factorizations and inversion on many‐threaded CPUs

open access: yesConcurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience, Volume 35, Issue 27, 10 December 2023., 2023
Abstract We extend a two‐level task partitioning previously applied to the inversion of dense matrices via Gauss–Jordan elimination to the more challenging QR factorization as well as the initial orthogonal reduction to band form found in the singular value decomposition.

Surface Deposition Induced Reduction of the Ground State Spin in Cr10 Wheel

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 10, Issue 20, July 17, 2023., 2023
The magneto‐structural properties of monolayers and multilayers of {Cr10(OMe)20(O2CCMe3)10} wheels sublimated onto Au(111) and Cu(111) substrates are reported. A reduction of the cluster total spin ground‐state from S = 9 in the bulk to S = 3 or S = 6 in the monolayers is observed, associated to variations in the intra‐wheel exchange coupling ...

Fitting South Korea in the United Kingdom's Indo‐Pacific tilt

open access: yesAsian Politics &Policy, Volume 15, Issue 1, Page 113-127, January 2023., 2023

Modified manta ray foraging optimization algorithm based improved load frequency controller for interconnected microgrids

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, Volume 16, Issue 16, Page 3587-3613, 7 December 2022., 2022
Abstract The recent environmental crisis and global warming have compelled an energy transition, particularly in the power generation and transportation sectors. Increased energy competence and production will necessitate enormous efforts. Admittedly, power system inertia metrics have revealed reduced inertia attributes, which could lead to a ...

Knowing by DEAF‐listening: Epistemologies and ontologies revealed in song‐signing

open access: yesAmerican Anthropologist, Volume 124, Issue 4, Page 866-879, December 2022., 2022
Abstract English speech and hearing are perceived by many in the UK population as the key ways that people listen, learn, and know. This often‐invisible assumption quietly colors almost every element of social interaction—within schooling, health, governance, social care, or in art and entertainment. This article unpacks the ways that a particular kind

Palaces for a New Spain Nobility: Between Creole Identity and Academicism

open access: yesSociology Lens, Volume 38, Issue 1, Page 75-86, March 2025.
ABSTRACT Mexico City and Havana had a significant number of noble palaces during the eighteenth century. Until now, the dearth of historical documentation on their construction has hampered any approximation, requiring other methodologies. Here, it is intended to establish how a new visual code was defined, consistent both with their local style and ...

A Journey Between Science and the Arts: Templates for the Depiction of the Pineapple (Sixteenth to Eighteenth Centuries)

open access: yesRenaissance Studies, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Native to America, the pineapple—Ananas comosus (L.) Merr.—delighted the Europeans who came across it. The fruit was mentioned by the voyagers and missionaries who observed and tasted it in the Americas and, from the 1500s onwards, infused reports, chronicles and natural history treatises with colour and flavour.
