Marketization in Public Purchasing as a Route to Business Corporations' Institutional Power: The Case of Outsourcing Social Services in Israel

open access: yesPolicy Studies Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT What are the conditions under which business corporations expand their institutional power? This paper argues that institutional power is affected by the architecture of the “acquisition regime”—the set of formal (and informal) rules that govern how states purchase public services.

Scaling Non‐Regular Shared‐Memory Codes by Reusing Custom Loop Schedules

open access: yesScientific Programming, Volume 11, Issue 2, Page 143-158, 2003., 2003
In this paper we explore the idea of customizing and reusing loop schedules to improve the scalability of non‐regular numerical codes in shared‐memory architectures with non‐uniform memory access latency. The main objective is to implicitly setup affinity links between threads and data, by devising loop schedules that achieve balanced work distribution

Global and Local Shielding/Deshielding Variation in C60 and C70 Fullerenes Upon Reduction: Evaluation of Aromaticity, 13C‐NMR and Anisotropy Patterns

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 31, Issue 12, February 25, 2025.
The six‐fold reduction of C60 and C70 fullerenes modifies the magnetic response of the π electrons enabling global and local variations of shielding/deshielding regions along different orientations of the external field which are represented in the variations of 13C‐NMR shifts given by the σ33 shielding component under the principal axis system (PAS ...

Two‐phase magma flow with phase exchange: Part II. 1.5D numerical simulations of a volcanic conduit

open access: yesStudies in Applied Mathematics, Volume 153, Issue 3, October 2024.
Abstract In a review paper in this same volume, we present the state of the art on modeling of compressible viscous flows ranging from single‐phase to two‐phase systems. It focuses on mathematical properties related to weak stability because they are important for numerical resolution and on the homogenization process that leads from a microscopic ...
