Configuring Field-Programmable Robot Arrays
2011 International Conference on Reconfigurable Computing and FPGAs, 2011Field-Programmable Robot Arrays (FPRAs) are MEMS micro-robots with programmable logic that can dock with other robots to make a larger digital structure. Each robot begins with a configuration for a motion algorithm, which is discarded after it reaches the desired target site.

Active antenna array lumped ring configuration
IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1998Coupled active antenna oscillator arrays are used for power-combining at microwave and millimeter-wave frequencies. It is known that the relative phase determined by the element separation distance ultimately determines the array operational mode and, hence, far-field radiation characteristics.

Array configurations for dynamic time warping
IEEE Transactions on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 1984In a previous paper an array architecture was revealed for real-time dynamic time warping. An integrated processor was designed and built for use in such an array. This paper discusses reduced arrays which allow a continuum of tradeoffs between speed and circuit complexity.

Sensor configuration in polarized antenna arrays
Proceedings of the Eighth International Symposium on Signal Processing and Its Applications, 2005., 2006Single- and dual-polarized array configurations are often used in imaging and radar applications. In this paper, spatio-polarimetric correlation are used as a framework to evaluate the direction finding performance of dierent receiver configurations employing double-feed dual-polarized array as well as arrays of single-feed single-polarized elements ...

Array Configuration to Eliminate Grating Lobes
1989A new configuration of ultrasound array transducers is proposed whose element boundaries interlock in a fine pattern to eliminate grating lobes from the acoustic field without using a very large number of array elements. Two dimensional acoustic fields produced by interlocking element 3.5 MHz array transducers are computer-simulated.

A CMOS electrically configurable gate array
IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, 1989A CMOS electrically configurable gate array that combines the flexibility, efficiency, extendability, and performance of mask-programmed gate arrays with the convenience of user programmability is described. The implementation is facilitated by a novel two-terminal antifuse programmable element and a configurable interconnect technology.

2D angle and array response estimation with arbitrary array configuration
ISCAS'99. Proceedings of the 1999 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems VLSI (Cat. No.99CH36349), 2003Based on second-order statistics, we propose a novel method to estimate jointly the 2D angles of multiple independent sources and the corresponding array response. The method imposes no geometric constraint on the array and most of the sensors can be uncalibrated.

Optimal Sensor Array Configuration in Remote Image Formation
IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2008Determination of optimal sensor configuration is an important issue in many remote imaging modalities, such as tomographic and interferometric imaging. In this paper, a statistical optimality criterion is defined and a search is performed over the space of candidate sensor locations to determine the configuration that optimizes the criterion over all ...

TUTCA configurable logic cell array architecture
[1991] Proceedings Fourth Annual IEEE International ASIC Conference and Exhibit, 1991A processor array architecture based on dynamically configurable logic cell array is designed to contain an 8*8 array of processing units. This array is expandable to construct larger arrays by combining chips together in a matrix. The configuration data for the processing units is loaded parallel into an internal configuration RAM to enable quick ...

Evolving Cell Array Configurations Using CGP
2011A cell array is a proposed type of custom FPGA, where digital circuits can be formed from interconnected configurable cells. In this paper we have presented a means by which CGP might be adapted to evolve configurations of a proposed cell array. As part of doing so, we have suggested an additional genetic operator that exploits modularity by copying ...
