A Feasibility Study for a Hand-Held Acoustic Imaging Camera

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
Acoustic imaging systems construct spatial maps of sound sources and have potential in various applications, but large, cumbersome form factors limit their adoption.

A Decoupled Direct Positioning Algorithm for Strictly Noncircular Sources Based on Doppler Shifts and Angle of Arrival

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
This paper discusses the localization problem for strictly noncircular sources based on Doppler shifts and angle of arrival (AOA). The conventional location methods, called two-step methods, first extract measurement parameters from the signals, and then

Kernel Antenna Array Processing [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2007
We introduce two support vector machine (SVM)-based approaches for solving antenna problems such as beamforming, sidelobe suppression, and maximization of the signal-to-noise ratio. A basic introduction to SVM optimization is provided and a complex nonlinear SVM formulation developed to handle antenna array processing in space and time.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified

Multi-Radar Distributed Fusion Algorithm Aided by Multi-Feature Information

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Compared with single-radar systems, multi-radar systems generally achieve superior detection performance due to their spatial and frequency diversity.
