Kernel Antenna Array Processing [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2007
We introduce two support vector machine (SVM)-based approaches for solving antenna problems such as beamforming, sidelobe suppression, and maximization of the signal-to-noise ratio. A basic introduction to SVM optimization is provided and a complex nonlinear SVM formulation developed to handle antenna array processing in space and time.

Reduced-Rank Adaptive Filtering Using Krylov Subspace

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2002
A unified view of several recently introduced reduced-rank adaptive filters is presented. As all considered methods use Krylov subspace for rank reduction, the approach taken in this work is inspired from Krylov subspace methods for iterative solutions ...

An Iterative Extended Kalman Filter for Coherent Measurements of Incoherent Network Nodes in Positioning Systems

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Many positioning and tracking applications use spatially distributed sensor stations, each equipped with coherent measurement channels. The coherent data set of each node is incoherently measured to the data sets of all other nodes, avoiding expensive ...

Subband Array Implementations for Space-Time Adaptive Processing

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2005
Intersymbol interference (ISI) and cochannel interference (CCI) are two primary sources of signal impairment in mobile communications. In order to suppress both ISI and CCI, space-time adaptive processing (STAP) has been shown to be effective in ...

Direct Position Determination of Multiple Radio Signals

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2005
The most common methods for position determination of radio signal emitters such as communications or radar transmitters are based on measuring a specified parameter such as angle of arrival (AOA) or time of arrival (TOA) of the signal.

Multidimensional Rank Reduction Estimator for Parametric MIMO Channel Models

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2004
A novel algebraic method for the simultaneous estimation of MIMO channel parameters from channel sounder measurements is developed. We consider a parametric multipath propagation model with P discrete paths where each path is characterized by its complex

High Resolution Direct Detection and Position Determination of Sources With Intermittent Emission

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
This paper presents our research findings on the direct detection and position determination (DDPD) problem, which is to estimate the positions and the total number of multiple sources with intermittent emission, using the received signals intercepted by

A Multi-Antenna Scheme for Early Detection and Mitigation of Intermediate GNSS Spoofing

open access: yesSensors, 2019
This article presents a method for detecting and mitigating intermediate GNSS spoofing. In this type of attack, at its early stage, a spoofer transmits counterfeit signals which have slight time offsets compared to true signals arriving from satellites ...

The seven ages of Fortran

open access: yesJournal of Computer Science and Technology, 2011
When IBM's John Backus first developed the Fortran programming language, back in 1957, he certainly never dreamt that it would become a world-wide success and still be going strong many years later.
