The Retrieval of Drop Size Distribution Parameters Using a Dual-Polarimetric Radar
The raindrop size distribution (DSD) is vital for applications such as quantitative precipitation estimation, understanding microphysical processes, and validation/improvement of two-moment bulk microphysical schemes.

Array shape estimation via piecewise subarray beamforming [PDF]
Deformation produced when towing a linear array can remove L-R ambiguities in conventional beam patterns, provided the beamformer knows the deformed array shape. In practice, however, this shape is usually unknown. Thus it is desirable to have a processor that determines the shape and uses this information to form the beams. A method which accomplishes

Direction of Arrival Estimation in the presence of Scatterer in noisy environment
We present an algorithm to estimate direction of arrival (DOA) of an incoming wave received at an array antenna in the scenario where the incoming wave is contaminated by the additive white Gaussian noise and scattered by arbitrary shaped 3D scatterer(s).

An L-shaped array for estimating 2-D directions of wave arrival [PDF]
A simple structured 2-D array, the L-shaped array, is presented. The L-shaped array consists of two uniform linear arrays (ULA) connected orthogonally at one end of each ULA. It is shown that the Cramer-Rao bounds (CRB) of the estimated wave directions based on the L-shaped array are about 37% smaller than those for the cross array.

ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Estimation of Two-Dimensional Non-Symmetric Incoherently Distributed Source with L-Shape Arrays
In the field of array signal processing, distributed sources can be regarded as an assembly of point sources within a spatial distribution. In this study, a two-dimensional (2D) non-symmetric incoherently distributed (ID) source model is proposed; we ...

Application of Machine Learning Ensemble Methods to ASTRI Mini-Array Cherenkov Event Reconstruction
The Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov technique has opened up previously unexplored windows for the study of astrophysical radiation sources in the very high-energy (VHE) regime and is playing an important role in the discovery and characterization of VHE ...
