Signal processing by pulse‐driven molecular arrays

International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications, 2003
AbstractIn this paper cellular array processors composed of weakly Coulomb coupled molecules are studied. Equivalent circuits for molecules performing optically induced electron and proton transfer are presented, and pulse‐driven computing architectures are proposed.

Signal-Dependent Array Processing

2016
In this chapter, we derive spherical harmonic domain signal-dependent beamformers, whose weights depend on the second-order statistics of the desired signal and/or of the noise to be suppressed. These beamformers adaptively seek to achieve optimal performance in terms of noise reduction and speech distortion.

Array signal processing in Four-Dimensional antenna arrays

2010 International Conference on Communications, Circuits and Systems (ICCCAS), 2010
The direction of arrival (DOA) estimation and adaptive beamforming (ABF) in Four-Dimensional (4-D) antenna arrays are presented in this paper. By using time modulation technique with appropriate time sequences, multiple beams can be obtained in the 4-D antenna arrays and each of them is located at different directions.

Sonar array signal processing for sparse linear arrays

ISSPA '99. Proceedings of the Fifth International Symposium on Signal Processing and its Applications (IEEE Cat. No.99EX359), 2003
Acoustic signals which propagate through the ocean have wavefronts which can differ significantly from the "planar wavefronts" assumed in array signal processing. In this paper we investigate the performance of the the minimum variance distortionless response (MVDR) beamformer and the previously introduced Fourier integral method (FIM), when applied to

Array signal processing

2001
In this chapter, an overview of the fundamentals of array signal processing is provided with a particular emphasis on recent advances in direction-ofarrival (DOA) estimation and adaptive beamforming. It is then highlighted that the signal models used in array processing and space-time block coded MIMO communications are rather similar. At the same time,

Signal Eigenvector Method For General Array Signal Processing

SPIE Proceedings, 1988
A high resolution algorithm is presented for resolving multiple incoherent and coherent plane waves incident on an array of sensors. The incident sources may be a mixture of narrowband and broadband sources, and, the array's geometry is unrestricted. This algorithm makes use of a fundamental property associated with the signal eigenvectors of the array'

Processing Spatiotemporal Signals Recorded Linear Array

2020 1st International Conference Problems of Informatics, Electronics, and Radio Engineering (PIERE), 2020
The paper proposes and describes an algorithm for processing signals with a random initial phase, which are fed to the elements of a linear digital antenna array, in the presence of internal noise and external interference. The algorithm is based on the mathematical description of signals and active interference as multidimensional spatiotemporal ...

Array processing for wideband biological signals

Proceedings of the Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 1992
In this paper we present array processing techniques used to discriminate between propagating wideband biological signals. Velocity and frequency responses for a circular array designed to enhance nerve signal from a desired direction while rejecting myoelectric signal from any direction are presented.

Applications of Array Signal Processing

2014
Abstract Array Signal Processing (ASP) refers to the collection and manipulation of data obtained from multiple spatially distributed sensors or antennas, in an effort to extract information about the sources of signals present in the data. As discussed in this chapter, such problems arise in many different fields, including radar, sonar, medicine ...

Array Signal Processing for Radio Astronomy

Experimental Astronomy, 2004
Radio astronomy forms an interesting application area for array signal processing techniques. Current synthesis imaging telescopes consist of a small number of identical dishes, which track a fixed patch in the sky and produce estimates of the time-varying spatial covariance matrix.
