Mid-infrared wavelength multiplexers on an InP platform [PDF]

open access: yesNanophotonics
We demonstrate mid-infrared multiplexers based on evanescent couplers in In0.53Ga0.47As/InP ridge waveguides. Multiplexing of λ = 5.2 µm and λ = 8 µm input wavelengths in TM00 modes to a single TM00 output was achieved with 0.7 dB insertion loss.

Large-Scale Optical Switch Utilizing Multistage Cyclic Arrayed-Waveguide Gratings for Intra-Datacenter Interconnection

open access: goldIEEE Photonics Journal, 2017
We develop a design method for creating a large-scale optical switch consisting of two sub-switch parts, i.e., delivery-and-coupling switches and wavelength-routing switches based on cyclic arrayed-waveguide gratings, where the available optical-power ...

Effect of mask discretization on performance of silicon arrayed waveguide gratings [PDF]

open access: green, 2014
We studied the impact of the lithography mask discretization on silicon arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) performance. When we decreased the mask grid from 5 to 1 nm, we observed an experimental improvement in crosstalk of 2.7-6 dB and cumulative crosstalk

Near-infrared spectroscopy of low-transmittance samples by a high-power time-stretch spectrometer using an arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Although time-stretch spectroscopy is an emerging ultrafast spectroscopic technique, the applications in industrial fields have been limited due to the low output power caused by undesirable nonlinear effects occurred in a long optical fiber used for ...
