Modelling clustering of vertically aligned carbon nanotube arrays [PDF]

open access: yesInterface Focus, 2015
Previous research demonstrated that arrays of vertically aligned carbon nanotubes (VACNTs) exhibit strong frictional properties. Experiments indicated a strong decrease of the friction coefficient from the first to the second sliding cycle in repetitive measurements on the same VACNT spot, but stable values in consecutive cycles.

Terahertz and infrared transmission properties of super-thin periodic multi-walled carbon nanotube gratings

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2022
Super-aligned multi-walled carbon nanotube arrays on Si wafer were synthesized by low press chemical vapor deposition. The super-thin multi-walled carbon nanotube films were obtained by a drawing process on the side of the vertically aligned carbon ...

Tribological properties of vertically aligned carbon nanotube arrays and carbon nanotube sponge [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2020
Carbon nanotube (CNT) films showing excellent mechanical and frictional performances are one of the most competitive candidates for fabricating functional surfaces; in particular, the bulk form of the forest-like vertical aligned CNT (VACNT) film and CNT sponge are idea candidates for making a flexible solid lubricant surface due to the fact that their

A combination of capillary and dielectrophoresis-driven assembly methods for wafer scale integration of carbon-nanotube-based nanocarpets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The wafer scale integration of carbon nanotubes (CNT) remains a challenge for electronic and electromechanical applications. We propose a novel CNT integration process relying on the combination of controlled capillary assembly and buried electrode ...

Heterostructures of Cut Carbon Nanotube-Filled Array of TiO2 Nanotubes for New Module of Photovoltaic Devices

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2022
In this work, a new photovoltaic device was prepared. The device uses titanium (Ti) foil/TiO2 nanotubes as the photoanode and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) as a photosensitizer.

Carbon nanotube based 3-D matrix for enabling three-dimensional nano-magneto-electronics [corrected]. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
This letter describes the use of vertically aligned carbon nanotubes (CNT)-based arrays with estimated 2-nm thick cobalt (Co) nanoparticles deposited inside individual tubes to unravel the possibility of using the unique templates for ultra-high-density ...

Supercapacitor Performance of Nickel-Cobalt Sulfide Nanotubes Decorated Using Ni Co-Layered Double Hydroxide Nanosheets Grown in Situ on Ni Foam [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
In this study, to fabricate a non-binder electrode, we grew nickel-cobalt sulfide (NCS) nanotubes (NTs) on a Ni foam substrate using a hydrothermal method through a two-step approach, namely in situ growth and an anion-exchange reaction.

Transition from single to multi-walled carbon nanotubes grown by inductively coupled plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this work a simple and up-scalable technique for creating arrays of high purity carbon nanotubes via plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition is demonstrated.

Propagating, evanescent, and localized states in carbon nanotube-graphene junctions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We study the electronic structure of the junctions between a single graphene layer and carbon nanotubes, using a tight-binding model and the continuum theory based on Dirac fermion fields.
