The Effectiveness of Anti‐Adhesion Barriers on Prevention of Postoperative Adhesive Bowel Obstruction: Disease‐Free Survival Analysis

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
We performed a survival analysis of abdominal gastroenterological cancer surgery cases with and without anti‐adhesive barriers, with the development of adhesive bowel obstruction as the outcome. The incidence of adhesive bowel obstruction was significantly lower in patients undergoing open or laparoscopic colorectal surgery in the anti‐adhesive ...

Laparoscopic and Endoscopic Cooperative Surgery for Gastric Cancer as an Alternative Treatment in Elderly Patients: A Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
In a prospective study of 20 elderly gastric cancer patients who declined gastrectomy, laparoscopic and endoscopic cooperative surgery (LECS) was technically safe and preserved postoperative function. However, as oncological curability cannot be assured in advanced cases, careful selection and informed consent are essential.

Endocardial and epicardial focal activation pattern due to microreentry ventricular tachycardia in a patient with cardiac sarcoidosis

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, 2017
Key Clinical Message Majority of ventricular tachycardias (VTs) are caused by scar‐related macroreentry in patients with cardiac sarcoidosis. These VTs usually exhibit the reentry circuit on electroanatomic maps.

Adenosine in human atrial fibrillation modulates and re-distributes atria-wide dominant frequencies and directs to reentry ablation sites with improved outcome

open access: yesScientific Reports
Understanding and therapy of persistent atrial fibrillation (AF) are suboptimal partly because the dynamics, mapping, and ablation of rotational activity that has been proposed to drive AF remain elusive.

S-ICD Implantation in Secondary Prevention in a Young Patient With Recent Surgically Repaired Pectus Excavatum

open access: yesJACC: Case Reports
We report a case of successful implantation of a subcutaneous implantable cardioverter-defibrillator in a young patient with severe pectus excavatum presenting with out-of-hospital ventricular fibrillation arrest who was recently surgically repaired with

Radiofrequency Catheter Ablation of Atrioventricular Nodal Reentrant Tachycardia: It Is Not Always As It Is Expected [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Observation of Coincident arrhythmias is not uncommon but the co-existence of idiopathic verapamil sensitive left ventricular tachycardia (ILVT) with other arrhythmias is very rare.

Synthetic Electrocardiogram Spectrogram Generation Using Generative Adversarial Network‐Based Models: A Comparative Study

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Cardiovascular diseases are leading death causes; electrocardiogram (ECG) analysis is slow, motivating machine learning and deep learning. This study compares deep convolutional generative adversarial network, conditional GAN, and Wasserstein GAN with gradient penalty (WGAN‐GP) for synthetic ECG spectrograms; Fréchet Inception Distance (FID) and ...

Electrical Storms in Brugada Syndrome: Review of Pharmacologic and Ablative Therapeutic Options [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Electrical storm occurring in a patient with the Brugada syndrome is an exceptional but malignant and potentially lethal event. Efficient therapeutic solutions should be known and urgently applied because of the inability of usual antiarrhythmic means in
