An explorative study on the validity of various definitions of a 2·2°C temperature threshold as warning signal for impending diabetic foot ulceration

open access: yesInternational Wound Journal, Volume 14, Issue 6, Page 1346-1351, December 2017., 2017
Abstract Home monitoring of skin temperature is effective to prevent diabetic foot ulceration. We explored the validity of various definitions for the >2·2°C left‐to‐right threshold used as a warning signal for impending ulceration. Twenty patients with diabetes and peripheral neuropathy monitored their skin temperature with an infrared thermometer at ...

Freshwater amphibians and squamates from Villeveyrac (lower Campanian; Hérault, France): palaeodiversity, palaeoenvironment and implications for the Late Cretaceous palaeobiogeography of the European herpetofauna

open access: yesPapers in Palaeontology, Volume 12, Issue 1, January/February 2026.
Abstract The Late Cretaceous witnessed numerous transgression–regression sequences and the onset of a global cooling phase at the start of the Campanian. In the European archipelago, these environmental changes, combined with active plate tectonics, facilitated the formation of ephemeral land bridges that served as dispersal routes for a variety of ...

Arteriovenous Fistula after Anatomic All‐Inside Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction

open access: yesCase Reports in Orthopedics, Volume 2017, Issue 1, 2017., 2017
We present the first case of an arteriovenous fistula after an all‐inside anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. A seventeen‐year‐old boy had an uneventful ACL reconstruction. Four weeks after surgery, the patient was seen with a pulsating swelling at the lateral distal upper leg.

Transgluteal vs. Anterior and Posterior Approaches for Porcine Model of Irreparable Acetabular Labral Tear: A Comparative Study on Feasibility and Safety

open access: yesBioMed Research International, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Objective To compare the surgical feasibility and safety of three approaches (anterior, transgluteal, posterior) for constructing a porcine model of irreparable acetabular labral tear. Methods After a cadaveric anatomical exploration in two pigs to define feasible corridors, 36 male Chinese miniature pigs were randomized (1:1:1) to anterior ...

Thermographic Patterns of the Upper and Lower Limbs: Baseline Data

open access: yesInternational Journal of Vascular Medicine, Volume 2015, Issue 1, 2015., 2015
Objectives. To collect normative baseline data and identify any significant differences between hand and foot thermographic distribution patterns in a healthy adult population. Design. A single‐centre, randomized, prospective study. Methods. Thermographic data was acquired using a FLIR camera for the data acquisition of both plantar and dorsal aspects ...

Higher central arterial wall viscosity and stiffness in resistance‐trained young men

open access: yesPhysiological Reports, Volume 13, Issue 17, September 2025.
Abstract Resistance training reduces arterial compliance. Although cardiac pulsatile energy is distributed between arterial compliance and arterial wall viscosity, arterial wall viscosity in resistance‐trained men remains unclear. Therefore, this study aimed to examine whether resistance‐trained men exhibit increased arterial wall viscosity. This cross‐
