Glissile Interphase Boundaries Enable Collective Phase Switching in Epitaxial Polar Oxides

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A triple point is identified in the phase diagram of low‐symmetry epitaxial BiFeO3 thin film along with an extended regime of phase competition associated with a flattened energy landscape. The electromechanical response is shown to be governed by correlated interphase‐boundary motion, including scale‐free avalanche dynamics characteristic of systems ...

Can We Mention About an Idea Called “Abstract Symbolic Style” in Turkish Art?

open access: yesArt-Sanat
Symbols play a crucial role in various domains, serving as conveyors of meaning through concrete signs with abstract significance. In some periods, it is seen that certain symbols stand out uniquely to that period and some symbols are used repeatedly or ...

Electrospun Wood‐Derived Biopolymers as Electrodes in Electrochemical Energy Storage Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electrospinning transforms wood‐derived cellulose and lignin into architecturally defined, binder‐free carbon electrodes with tuneable porosity and functionality. This review shows how fibre design enables decoupled charge and mass transport, enhancing performance across battery systems, while identifying key challenges in spinnability, scalability ...

Fusogenic RNA Nanomodules for Fusion‐Mediated and Multiplexed siRNA Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fusogenic lipid‐layered RNA nanomodules (L‐CRAMs) enable high‐capacity and long‐lasting siRNA delivery through membrane fusion. These nanomodules carry exceptionally large siRNA payloads, avoid conventional endosomal uptake, and release multiple functional siRNAs through Dicer‐mediated processing.

GOYA: Leveraging Generative Art for Content-Style Disentanglement

open access: yesJournal of Imaging
The content-style duality is a fundamental element in art. These two dimensions can be easily differentiated by humans: content refers to the objects and concepts in an artwork, and style to the way it looks. Yet, we have not found a way to fully capture

Two‐Photon Grayscale Lithography (2GL) of High Mechanical and Optical Quality 3D Silica Glass Microstructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two‐photon grayscale lithography (2GL) enables high‐speed and precise 3D printing of thermolyzed silica glass microstructures with optical‐grade surface quality, high quality factors, and mechanical strength utilizing a custom‐made pre‐glass resist based on polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) modified with a high‐sensitivity Norrish type II ...

Functionalizing Micro‐to‐Mesoscopic Electrode Architectures for Regulating Electron Transfer Behaviors in Electrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A systematic review is conducted to assess the influence of electrode architecture across micro‐ to mesoscopic length scales on electron‐transfer pathways in electrocatalysis. We discuss the structure‐activity relationships in electrocatalytic applications, including resource recovery and environmental remediation, and provide cost‐effective, efficient

Discussion of ‘Style’ from Max Loehr and the Study of Chinese Bronzes, Style and Classification in the History of Art, Ithaca, Cornell University Press: Cornell East Asia Series 2008 [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Art Historiography, 2010
This essay is the concluding chapter of a study of the work of Max Loehr (1903-1988), an art historian whose visual analysis of unprovenanced Chinese bronzes famously anticipated the discoveries of archaeologists.

Light‐Induced Field‐Tunneling Synapses in Solution‐Processed Van Der Waals Heterostructures for Scalable, Retina‐Inspired Optical Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A scalable, solution‐processed WSe2/ZrO2‐x van der Waals heterostructure realizes a light‐induced field‐tunneling synapse (LIFTS) that activates exclusively under bright illumination, emulating the photopic adaptation of the human retina at the device level.
