Mapping Bullous Emphysema With Lung Ultrasound: A Prospective Multicentre Study. [PDF]

open access: yesRespirology
This study confirms the existence of the ‘bulla‐point’, a sonographic sign echoing the lung‐point associated with pneumothorax. Other signs of pneumothorax such as absent lung sliding or barcode sign are also prevalent in bullous emphysema, especially in patients with high pulmonary distension or in apical regions.

Synthetic Motifs for Understanding Lewis Acid Interactions with Persulfides and Thioselenides. [PDF]

open access: yesAngew Chem Int Ed Engl
Using isolated dichalcogenides as precursors, we report the synthesis, characterization, and reactivity of Zn persulfide and thioselenide complexes. 77Se NMR shows distinct impacts to electronic structure and reactivity between different thioselenides coordinated to different Lewis acids.

Statin Use and Incidence of Parkinson's Disease in Women from the French E3N Cohort Study

open access: yesMovement Disorders, Volume 38, Issue 5, Page 854-865, May 2023., 2023
Abstract Background Statins represent candidates for drug repurposing in Parkinson's disease (PD). Few studies examined the role of reverse causation, statin subgroups, and dose–response relations based on time‐varying exposures. Objectives We examined whether statin use is associated with PD incidence while attempting to overcome the limitations ...

Development of a Measure Cell to Assess by Amperometry Dissolved Oxygen in Vegetable Oils

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Lipid Science and Technology, Volume 125, Issue 4, April 2023., 2023
An amperometric method combined with a measuring cell in dynamic mode makes it possible to determine the stability conditions of the measurements of the relative dissolved oxygen concentration in oils. Knowledge of the dissolved oxygen content is an important factor that must be determined in order to limit the phenomenon of autoxidation through ...

Coding and Noncoding Variation in LRRK2 and Parkinson's Disease Risk

open access: yesMovement Disorders, Volume 37, Issue 1, Page 95-105, January 2022., 2022
Abstract Background The leucine‐rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2) gene harbors both rare highly damaging missense variants (eg, p.G2019S) and common noncoding variants (eg, rs76904798) with lower effect sizes that are associated with Parkinson's disease (PD) risk.
