Non-invasive assessment of arterial stiffness using oscillometric blood pressure measurement
Background Arterial stiffness is a major contributor to cardiovascular diseases. Because current methods of measuring arterial stiffness are technically demanding, the purpose of this study was to develop a simple method of evaluating arterial stiffness ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Prospective clinical study to evaluate an oscillometric blood pressure monitor in pet rabbits
Background Rabbits are particularly sensitive to develop hypotension during sedation or anaesthesia. Values of systolic or mean non-invasive arterial blood pressure below 80 or 60 mmHg respectively are common under anaesthesia despite an ongoing surgery.

Radial artery pressures compared with subclavian artery pressure during coronary artery surgery
Radial artery and subclavian artery pressures were measured in nine men undergoing coronary artery surgery requiring cardiopulmonary bypass. Radial artery pressures were measured simultaneously through short (10.2 cm) and long (106.9 cm) tubing using two transducers in a branched tubing system.
