Non-invasive assessment by B-mode ultrasound of arterial pulse wave intensity and its modification during ventricular dysfunction [PDF]
Arterial pulse waves contain clinically useful information: their intensity varies with cardiac performance, their speed (pulse wave velocity; PWV) depends on arterial stiffness and their reflection is affected by conduit artery tone. Here we demonstrate a novel method for non-invasively assessing wave properties.
