Traumatic arteriovenous fistula

Abstract A case history is presented in which a foreign body of steel entered the upper anterior thigh of a workman. The clinical course was typical of an arteriovenous fistula. Operations were carried out first for a lumbar sympathectomy fourteen weeks after injury, and a quadruple ligation and resection fifteen weeks after injury.
