Influence of Long-term Cytotoxic Chemotherapy on the Condition of Peripheral Venous Channel [PDF]
The necessity of long-term venous access in cancer patients appears at frequent and long-term courses of cytotoxic therapy. Peripheral veins of forearms are most often used for these aims. The conditions of peripheral venous channel in 32 cancer patients,

A large, single pulmonary arteriovenous fistula presenting hours after birth [PDF]
This article reports a case of a single, large pulmonary artery to left atrial fistula presenting within hours of birth. Symptomatic fistulas of this type are exceptionally rare in the neonatal period.

Abstract Objective This study aimed to evaluate the utility of left atrial volume and function in uraemic patients using four‐dimensional automatic left atrial quantification (4D auto LAQ) technology. Methods Thirty‐four undialysed uraemic patients (U‐ND group), 60 dialysed uraemic patients (U‐D group), and 32 healthy volunteers (N group) were enrolled

Klippel‐Trénaunay‐Weber Syndrome: Prenatal Diagnosis and Review of the Literature
This meta‐analysis demonstrates the high diagnostic accuracy of SZ‐CEUS for differentiating between malignant and benign focal liver lesions, as well as for HCC from non‐HCC lesions. The study shows better performance for smaller lesions and those with a higher proportion of malignancy.

Simultaneous self-organization of arterial and venous networks driven by the physics of global power optimization [PDF]
Understanding of vascular organization is a long-standing problem in quantitative biology and biophysics and is essential for the growth of large cultured tissues. Approaches are needed that (1) make predictions of optimal arteriovenous networks in order to understand the natural vasculatures that originate from evolution (2) can design vasculature for

ABSTRACT Aims After presentation with urinary symptoms, an underlying neurological mechanism sometimes emerges subsequently. Increased awareness may bring earlier diagnosis, improving prognosis and outcomes. Methods A 2024 International Consultation on Incontinence Research Society think‐tank considered the clinical pathway for identification of an ...

A Statistical Analysis of the Effect of Different Embolization Materials on Gamma Knife Arteriovenous Malformation Dose Distributions [PDF]
Gamma Knife Radiosurgery (GKRS) is a treatment choice in newly diagnosed AVMs and residual AVMs following endovascular interventions. Aim of this study is to determine if commercially available liquid embolic agents reduce the radiation dose to the target due to the attenuation of the 60Co beam.
