Two New Lichenicolous Species of Opegrapha (Arthoniales) from Canada

Bryologist, 2021
Two new species of lichenicolous Opegrapha are described from New Brunswick, Canada. Opegrapha inconspicua was found once on a rock bluff above a river on the thallus of Verrucaria aethiobola. It is characterized by punctiform, rounded, black ascomata 75–170 µm diam., an excipulum dark brown to black only in the upper part and (1–)2(–3)-septate ...

Classification and Phylogeny in the Arthoniales (Lichenized Ascomycetes)

Bryologist, 1998
The current classification of the Arthoniales and phylogenetic hypotheses for the order are discussed. The available phylogenetic analyses of the order lead to a better understanding of certain groups, particularly the Roccellaceae and Chiodecton sensu lato.

The phylogeny of Arthoniales (Pezizomycotina) inferred from nucLSU and RPB2 sequences

Fungal Diversity, 2010
A two-locus phylogenetic study of the order Arthoniales is presented here using the nuclear ribosomal large subunit (nucLSU) and the second largest subunit of RNA polymerase II (RPB2). This analysis is the first large phylogeny of this fungal group and includes 476 sequences and 240 specimens representing 132 species sampled from 31 genera (in their ...
