LAMBRINUDI'S ARTHRODESIS [PDF]
One hundred cases of Lambrinudi's arthrodesis are reviewed. The shortest follow-up was one year. and the longest twenty-seven years. Thirty-seven per cent were successful. Nineteen per cent were failures; many of these were associated with faulty technique, and one method of operation which gives good results is described.

Trapeziometacarpal arthrodesis
Hand Surgery and Rehabilitation, 2021Arthrodesis of the trapeziometacarpal (TMC) joint is one of the first surgical procedures used to treat thumb basal joint arthritis. From 1970 to 1990, we performed 254 TMC arthrodeses with crossed K-wires. From 2015 to 2016, we performed 12 TMC arthrodesis procedures with shape-memory staples.

There has been significant enhancement in surgical management of hallux valgus deformity. Recognition of the role of medial column hypermobility has resulted in better functional outcomes with decreased risk of recurrence. Modern techniques have evolved to include enhanced fixation in a move toward minimal postoperative downtime.

Scaphocapitolunate arthrodesis
The Journal of Hand Surgery, 1993Since 1985 scaphocapitolunate arthrodesis has been performed on 21 patients with either chronic incompetence of the scapholunate ligament or a scaphoid nonunion. The average age was 31 years; follow-up averaged 28 months. Eighty-six percent of the injuries involved workers' compensation.

Current indications for shoulder arthrodesis include posttraumatic brachial plexus injuries, paralysis of the deltoid muscle and rotator cuff, chronic infection, failed revision arthroplasty, severe refractory instability, and bone deficiency following resection of a tumor in the proximal aspect of the humerus. The trapezius, levator scapulae, serratus

Shoulder arthrodesis is an end-stage, salvage procedure for the glenohumeral joint and can provide a pain-free, stable shoulder with varying levels of function. Common indications include brachial plexus injury, chronic instability with rotator cuff and deltoid dysfunction, and failed shoulder arthroplasty.

Arthrodesis is one of the last options available to obtain a stable, painless knee in a patient with a damaged knee joint that is not amenable to reconstructive measures. Common indications for knee arthrodesis include failed total knee arthroplasty, periarticular tumor, posttraumatic arthritis, and chronic sepsis. The primary contraindications to knee

A triple arthrodesis is a fusion of the talocalcaneal, calcaneal cuboid, and talonavicular joints. The purpose is to create a well-aligned, plantigrade, and stable foot for patients with deformity or progressive neurologic and arthritic conditions. This article is a comprehensive overview of the procedure.
