Pecularities of shoulder joint arthroplasty after war injuries

open access: yesBolʹ, Sustavy, Pozvonočnik
Background. Shoulder arthroplasty in patients after combat injuries is a complex and multicomponent problem. This study aimed to analyze our first experience of treating patients with gunshot and blast injuries with shoulder arthroplasty.

Anatomic and Reverse Stemless Shoulder Arthroplasty: Functional and Radiological Evaluation

open access: yesJournal of Shoulder and Elbow Arthroplasty, 2022
Background Stemless shoulder arthroplasty was developed to restore the glenohumeral centre of rotation without violation of the humeral shaft. It allows the preservation of humeral bone stock. Complications related to stem malalignment and periprosthetic

Outcome measures used in arthroplasty trials : systematic review of the 2008 and 2013 literature [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Background/objective: Previously published literature assessing the reporting of outcome measures used in joint replacement randomised controlled trials (RCTs) has revealed disappointing results. It remains unknown as to whether international initiatives

Low arthroplasty survival after treatment for proximal humerus fracture sequelae: 3,245 shoulder replacements from the Nordic Arthroplasty Register Association [PDF]

open access: yesActa Orthopaedica, 2020
Background and purpose - Proximal humerus fractures (PHF) may result in sequelae indicating arthroplasty. We report cumulative survival rates and reasons for revision after arthroplasty for proximal humerus fracture sequelae (PHFS).Patients and methods - Data were derived from the Nordic Arthroplasty Register Association.

Cementless surface replacement arthroplasty of the shoulder [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. British volume, 2001
Cementless surface replacement arthroplasty of the shoulder is designed to replace the damaged joint surfaces and restore normal anatomy with minimal resection of bone. We have used the Copeland shoulder arthroplasty for 14 years. Between 1986 and 2000, 285 surface replacement arthroplasties were implanted in our unit.

Prolonged Opioid Usage After Surgically Treated Pelvic Fracture in Working Aged Patients: Prevalence, Demographics, and Multivariable Prediction Model

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Pain, Volume 30, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Pelvic fracture (PF) is a serious injury that can lead to prolonged opioid use. We examined opioid use after surgical treatment of PF in a working‐age population in Finland and identified predictors of prolonged opioid use. Methods Using nationwide registries, we identified all Finnish inhabitants aged 18 to 65 years undergoing PF ...

Do outcomes reported in randomised controlled trials of joint replacement surgery fulfil the OMERACT 2.0 Filter? A review of the 2008 and 2013 literature. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Background It is not known, whether outcome reporting in trials of total joint arthroplasty in the recent years is adequate or not. Our objective was to assess whether outcomes reported in total joint replacement (TJR) trials fulfil the Outcome ...

Augmented Glenoid Replacement for Total Shoulder Arthroplasty

open access: yes, 2016
Degenerative arthritis resulting in asymmetric posterior glenoid wear presents management challenges for the treating surgeon. Factors that must be considered include the structural management of the bone deficiency, addressing posterior humeral head subluxation, and understanding the survivability of the various treatment techniques.

Porous Nanocellulose‐Reinforced Polyacrylamide Hybrid Hydrogels for Tissue Engineering

open access: yesIsrael Journal of Chemistry, Volume 66, Issue 2, March 2026.
Porous polyacrylamide‐nanocellulose hydrogels fabricated via NaHCO3 driven gas foaming, enabling tunable pore architectures. Increasing porosity enhances swelling behavior and supports human chondrocyte adhesion, infiltration, and distribution, while the scaffolds retain high mechanical resilience and compressibility.
