Extent, characteristics and policy applications of Key Biodiversity Areas
ABSTRACT A global standard for the identification of Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs) was published 10 years ago to provide a unified set of criteria for identifying ‘sites of significance for the global persistence of biodiversity’. We review the initiative's origins, the KBA identification process, characteristics of the current network, threats, policy

Training ANFIS using artificial bee colony algorithm
This paper introduces a new approach for training the adaptive network based fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). In this study, we apply one of the swarm intelligent branches, named artificial bee colony algorithm (ABC) for training. We use ABC for training the antecedent parameters and the conclusion parameters.

Ecology and evolution of pyrazines in insects
ABSTRACT Chemical communication is the oldest and most widespread form of signalling among and within organisms. Among the many compounds involved in such communication, pyrazines – nitrogen‐containing heterocyclic molecules – are especially intriguing due to their widespread occurrence across the tree of life, from bacteria and fungi to insects and ...

Rockburst prediction based on data preprocessing and hyperband‐RNN‐DNN
A data preprocessing workflow is proposed to address challenges in rockburst data analysis. Coupled algorithms preprocess the data set, and hyperband optimization is used to enhance RNN performance. Results show that preprocessing improves accuracy, while dense layers enhance model stability and prediction performance.
