Production of High Purity Artificial Graphite
The most effective treatment to remove V from raw coke was to treat the coke with 5% of NH4Cl and heat at 2000 deg C for 3 hr. A graphitization furnace was used to attain the temperature of 2000 deg C. Satisfactory results were also obtained by the same purification and graphitization process by adding the necessary amount of NH4Cl or NaCl to the raw ...

Defect-induced magnetism in graphite through neutron irradiation
We have investigated the variation in the magnetization of highly ordered pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) after neutron irradiation, which introduces defects in the bulk sample and consequently gives rise to a large magnetic signal.

Microbial catalysis of the oxygen reduction reaction for microbial fuel cells: a review. [PDF]
The slow kinetics of the electrochemical oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is a crucial bottleneck in the development of microbial fuel cells (MFCs). This article firstly gives an overview of the particular constraints imposed on ORR by MFC operating ...

This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Effect of oxygen plasma etching on graphene studied with Raman spectroscopy and electronic transport [PDF]
We report a study of graphene and graphene field effect devices after exposure to a series of short pulses of oxygen plasma. We present data from Raman spectroscopy, back-gated field-effect and magneto-transport measurements.
