Novel Roles for the Ectoenzyme CD38 in the Maintenance of Transcriptional and Metabolic Homeostasis in Astrocytes

open access: yesGlia, Volume 74, Issue 2, February 2026.
CD38 deficiency influences brain NAD/NAM metabolism. Global CD38 deficiency drives changes in astrocyte mitochondrial, metabolic, senescence, and neurodegenerative‐related genes. CD38 deficiency alters glial reactivity and astrocyte bioenergetics. ABSTRACT CD38 is an ectoenzyme that converts NAD+ to NAM to help maintain bioenergetic homeostasis.

Self‐Healing Materials from Electronically Integrated Microscopic Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 8, Issue 1, January 2026.
Submillimeter robots can use electronically controlled electrodeposition to assemble into a material structure. The resulting aggregate possesses ultralow density, high strength‐to‐weight ratio, and can heal from damage. Further afield, these results clear a path to materials that organize or adapt by directing matter and information at the microscale.

Ultra-Wideband Robust RCS Reduction with Triangle-type AMC Structure [PDF]

open access: yesRadioengineering, 2018
A novel planar artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) structure is presented for ultra-wideband radar cross section reduction (RCSR). The structure consists of three different AMC tiles in a quadruple triangle-type chessboard configuration.

Identifying early changes in imaging, plasma, and digital cognitive biomarkers that correspond to Alzheimer's disease pathology in the presence of autopsy‐confirmed co‐pathologies

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Alzheimer's disease (AD) biomarkers are assessed on their ability to detect AD pathophysiology in vivo, with confirmation of AD neuropathology only at autopsy. METHODS Positron emission tomography (PET), plasma, and cognitive AD biomarkers were compared to AD neuropathology in Harvard Aging Brain Study participants (10 cognitively

Antenna performance enhancement with Artificial Magnetic Conductor(AMC)

open access: yes, 2016
Artificial Magnetic Conductor (AMC) is a metamaterial which is widely used nowadays in antenna designs. AMC mimics the behavior of Perfect Magnetic Conductor (PMC) which is not available in nature.

Ultra-wideband antenna with tunable artificial magnetic conductor

open access: yes, 2014
This paper presents a tunable Artificial Magnetic Conductor (AMC) unit cell design by means of four copper strips. With the inclusion of copper strips, the initial reflection phase of dual band AMC changes from 2.45 GHz and 5.8 GHz to single frequency of

Integrated Self‐Resonating Microwave Source With Concurrent Dual‐Band and Polarisation Reconfigurability

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 62, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This letter presents a compact integrated self‐resonating microwave source capable of simultaneous dual‐band operation and polarization reconfiguration. The reconfigurable pulse‐triggered network charges the antenna to a high DC potential and then triggers the accumulated charges to oscillate, therefore directly converting DC energy into concurrent ...
