Applying an Ethical Lens to the Treatment of People With Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The practice of neurology requires an understanding of clinical ethics for decision‐making. In multiple sclerosis (MS) care, there are a wide range of ethical considerations that may arise. These involve shared decision‐making around selection of a disease‐modifying therapy (DMT), risks and benefits of well‐studied medications in comparison to

Physical activity phenotypes in endometriosis using unsupervised learning via functional mixture models

open access: yesBMC Women's Health
Background Endometriosis is a chronic condition associated with severe pelvic pain, dysmenorrhea, infertility, and worsening quality of life. Regular physical activity (PA) is effective for pain management and reducing chronic disease symptoms, yet ...

Development of a Prediction Model for Progression Risk in High‐Grade Gliomas Based on Habitat Radiomics and Pathomics

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To investigate the value of constructing models based on habitat radiomics and pathomics for predicting the risk of progression in high‐grade gliomas. Methods This study conducted a retrospective analysis of preoperative magnetic resonance (MR) images and pathological sections from 72 patients diagnosed with high‐grade gliomas (52 ...

On learning and the stability of cycles [PDF]

open access: yes
We study a general equilibrium model where the multiplicity of stationary periodic perfect foresight equilibria is pervasive. We investigate the extent of which agents can learn to coordinate on stationary perfect foresight cycles.

BUILDING AN ARTIFICIAL STOCK MARKET POPULATED BY REINFORCEMENT‐LEARNING AGENTS

open access: yesJournal of Business Economics and Management, 2009
In this paper we propose an artificial stock market model based on interaction of heterogeneous agents whose forward-looking behaviour is driven by the reinforcement-learning algorithm combined with some evolutionary selection mechanism. We use the model for the analysis of market self-regulation abilities, market efficiency and determinants of ...

A Scoping Review on Artificial Intelligence–Supported Interventions for Nonpharmacologic Management of Chronic Rheumatic Diseases

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
This review summarizes artificial intelligence (AI)‐supported nonpharmacological interventions for adults with chronic rheumatic diseases, detailing their components, purpose, and current evidence base. We searched Embase, PubMed, Cochrane, and Scopus databases for studies describing AI‐supported interventions for adults with chronic rheumatic diseases.

Hip Morphology–Based Osteoarthritis Risk Prediction Models: Development and External Validation Using Individual Participant Data From the World COACH Consortium

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective This study aims to develop hip morphology‐based radiographic hip osteoarthritis (RHOA) risk prediction models and investigates the added predictive value of hip morphology measurements and the generalizability to different populations. Methods We combined data from nine prospective cohort studies participating in the Worldwide Collaboration ...

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.
