Population Structure and Artificial Evolution
2006We investigate the effect that population structure has upon the course of artificial evolution. We represent an arbitrary population structure by embedding a population of individuals in a graph. Each individual resides at a vertex of the graph and can only choose a mating partner from among its neighbors in the graph.

Dental restorations and artificial teeth in a Georgian population
British Dental Journal, 1991In the recent exhumation of a predominantly Georgian population at Christ Church, Spitalfields, 12 skulls showed evidence of dental restorations or artificial teeth. These have been described in some detail and the findings discussed in the light of current knowledge about practical dentistry in England up to the year 1852.

Leaders emergence in artificial populations: the role of networks
Quality & Quantity, 2013Social networks can be viewed as graphs in their basic form, but many networks of interest include positive and negative affect relations among nodes. The structural balance theory originally developed by Heider suggests how nodes may locally modify their relationships to maintain a sort of balance within sets of nodes. We analyze a model of leadership

Population-Based Artificial Immune System Clustering Algorithm
2011Artificial immune systems inspired by humoral-mediated immunity use hyper mutation to simulate the way that natural immune systems refine their B cells and antibodies in response to pathogens in a process called affinity maturation. Such hyper mutation is typically performed on individual computational antibodies and B cells, and has been shown to be ...

POPULATION EMPLOYMENT AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
The job market is being transformed by artificial intelligence (AI), which has emerged as a revolutionary technology. Understanding how AI will impact employment and the future of work is critical. The purpose of this article is to explore the many impacts of AI on the labor market, including job creation, skill needs, job displacement, and potential ...openaire +1 more source

In summary, then, we would like to suggest that in broad investigations of the patterns of interaction and relationship among organisms the artificial and stultifying fragmentation of population biology into divisions such as taxonomy, population genetics, and ecology should be ignored.
